US websites think I am in Europe. Is it because I use Opera?

Some US sites won't open. They think I'm in Europe. I'm in the US. Que pasa?

I've changed the settings to use American continent servers. Maybe that will help. Sorry if I was asking about a topic that has been covered, I didn't see it.

How can a site "guess" a wrong location (Europe) when my IP address clearly places me inside the US?

When I check my geolocation it's always in Ashburn, VA. Always! Users who come from that location (like I am) should not be "guessed" as coming from any European country. Something with that darn Opera VPN is just plain wrong!

There are dozens and dozens of sites (practically all sites I open) that place me into Europe and show me Russian (Ukrainian) ads. So they are all screwed up?

I was talking about geolocation services.
Check https://www.iplocation.net/ with VPN on and you will probably see different sites giving different results.

Looks like the same IP address is shown in 4 different locations. How is that even possible? I always thought that IP addresses are unique.
