Remove google search completely?

I have a different engine set as my default search engine. For some reason lately, occasionaly when I type in a search term, google pops up greatly magnified. There used to be a power-user method to remove google completely, but that doesn't seem to work. Is there another way to remove a search engine COMPLETELY?
Not that anyone gives a crap, but I'm close to uninstalling Opera because I dont like things that give unexpected results, as that can also mean insecure processing.

There isn't, except for the ones that you've added.

Now, if you are talking about enhanced address bar, you need top look at the left of it to see what search engine is being used. The one that appear sin the pop-down is the same that you have in start page.
