Cannot sign in after update

Please help! I updated and wish I never did.
I can't sign in. I enter my opera password no joy. It does say passphrase. I can't remember it. What am I to enter? Then i try to reset but it says to log into account! Which I can't!
I want to sync my data and it says to sign in. I can't.
Will I lose my bookmarks if I uninstall?
Where are they kept?
How can I save them?
I just, one, want to save my bookmarks

This should solve the issue:
- Go to sync.opera.com
- Login to your account using same username and password
- you will find an option to "reset synchronization" there
- When you reset synchronization, you won't loose any data from device.
- Once you reset synchronization, logging in to your device.

That doesn't work. It ask for passphrase. Which I don't remember. Also I don't think I was even asked for one when I signed up for an account??? What is going on?

Yes that I can do. I have reset sync. All my bookmarks are lost. It's terrible! I did backup. But that is another story. Thinking NOT use opera ever again.
What should I do now?? I want to sign in sync

Yes I downloaded it and tried it. I can sign in. But it does not help. It just says now sign in and start syncing. I know! I wish I could. My android sign in just says passphrase. On desktop opera and website phone opera says all has been reset. It does not say anything about passphrase. I can't find it or see it.
