Inserting multiple line breaks

Sometimes I would like to insert several successive blank lines, for example for a clearer visual separation of images and subsequent text.
However, neither by pressing the ENTER key several times, nor by multiple backslashes, nor by repeated two blank spaces (as it is described here) I succeed.
Is this not possible with this forum software or am I doing something wrong?

If I do this:
Line 1\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ Line 9
I get:
Line 1
Line 9Is that what you mean? The catch is you have to have start text and end text for the breaks to get inserted correctly.

You can insert linebreaks.
I guess it's for the reason of occasional excessive vertical space use. It's easy to drop drunk on your keyboard or hit "Enter" maliciously...
I can see it's common to deal with it by capping the excess. -

Sorry for my delay in responding.

Yes, it is.
The catch is you have to have start text and end text for the breaks to get inserted correctly.
Maybe this didn't work for me because I inserted the text I wanted to post as a whole from the clipboard, and then tried to format its paragraphs as mentioned.
I will verify this in future posts.
Thank you for your help.
