I propose to improve the functionality of the forum. Add a "Say thanks" button under each user message. This will help one person to express gratitude to others for helping with their problem. When you click on the message, write: "Thank you: nickname1, nickname2"...

You can like/up-vote helpful posts by clicking on the Up-thumb at the bottom right of each post:

This seems to me more suitable.

Personally, I wouldn't want to read the same post hundreds of times containing nothing but an impersonal thank you note, expressed by a ready-made text template. Also, threads would become unnecessarily lengthy.

It would just help the forum to be 'spammed' with those impersonal messages of thanks, that would bring no benefit for the forum.

As said, you can up-vote the posts that helped you.
