I like to click on things and use control click, but I don't like to have the tab set focus ... Is there are key sequence for this and if not can it be made?
I want to have links load in the background and read them later.

Do you have a middle button or scroll wheel? Middle-clicking (which is pressing on the wheel for mice with scroll wheels) opens links in background tabs, or there is also a gesture for those without middle buttons or scroll wheels.

Most gestures in Opera involve right-click drags; can you do those on your laptop?

I'll need to check for certain, but traditionally "gesture down" opens a new tab, or opens a link in a new tab if you start the gesture over the link. Gesture down followed immediately (without releasing the button) by gesture up will open the link in a background tab.

Again, on a mouse "gesture down" is hold the right button and move the pointer downwards, releasing the button at the end of the gesture. The times I've used a trackpad the right button was actually a physical button, so I suppose it should work - though standard left-button drags are much easier.

Well I hope that there can be a nice feature added.. maybe alt clickonlink
can work since control clickonlink almost does it.
