Opera 55: Open Search results in new tab?

I cannot find a setting for this and will not be able to use Opera unless without this feature (as well as a couple of others).

I am using the Search Box, not the address bar, and the search engine is set to DuckDuckGo.

Try ctrl + enter or shift + enter.
