If that's an accurate error message, it means the site was built for Internet Explorer and you need to use it to log in. Or, for some reason, the site is giving Opera the part of the code that's for Internet Explorer instead of the part of the code for Chrome. If you think that's the case, you can try this extension to see if it resolves the issue. If so, see https://addons.opera.com/en/search/?query=user+agent and use an extension to mask as Chrome just for that site.
