Unable to set default search engine manually (possible bug)

I'm using opera developer 56.0.3013.0, most probably it's d latest one. In this, I'm getting an awkward problem regarding search engine. If I add any search engine & set it to default, then after every browser browser restart it gets reverted to previous one. I tried to set startpage as default, but after browser restart it gets reverted back to google. Is this normal? btw, if I set any of those pre-installed search engines as default, then that doesn't change after browser restart.

@opaco It was never possible to set a custom search engine as the default one, so most probably the option to do it is a bug in the new settings page.
