An error occurred while checking for updates

Hello. In the About section, under Version I was getting the following: 53.0.2907.99 - An error occurred while checking for updates. So, I downloaded the installer and I have updated Opera manually. However, now it says: 53.0.2907.106 - An error occurred while checking for updates. Can anyone please suggest how to repair the auto-update feature? (I am running Windows 10, 64-bit)

@nikolahp1 Most probably there is something in your system blocking the access to the auto-update servers.

Or maybe you have a broken profile. Did you perform the required steps as instructed?

@leocg Thank you for your reply. I have solved the issue. I don't know if it is by design, but when the 'Battery saver' power profile is active, Opera displays 'An error occurred while checking for updates'. If I turn the 'Battery saver' off, the auto update works fine i.e. it displays that Opera is up to date.
(To answer your note about the possible block to the servers - I am using Windows Defender and Windows Firewall is turned on with the default settings and the same router is used by my desktop which has no problems updating Opera).
