Receive following error message when I check for updates:
53.0.2907.37 - An error occurred while checking for updates
Update stream: Stable
System: Windows 10 32-bit -

Sometimes you just have to try again later. Other times you have to load up the Windows task manager and kill any Opera processes that are still open.
If those don't work, download the Opera installer, launch it, click "options", set "install path" to your existing install and choose "upgrade".
If that doesn't work, delete the Opera program files directory and reinstall to that spot. Or, uninstall Opera and choose not to delete your data. Then, reinstall.
I've been meaning to figure out how to repair the problem by messing with the installation_status and or the installer_prefs files in the Opera program files directory, But, the problem hasn't happened for me yet again.
