      In Opera 52's preferences I do not find any option which handles the behaviour when clicking on links. Constantly pressing the Ctrl key is quite impractical. Isn't there any option so that ALL links will be opened in a new tab automatically? For me, opening a link in the same tab is mere nonsense.
      Thanks

        @bugs25 There isn't such option. Try checking if an extension allows you to do that.

          @leocg
          "Open new tab" from gacacu helps in a way although it is sensitive for unintentional handling error. "Open links as background tabs by clicking links and holding for a half second".
          But the question must be allowed: With what intent did the developers implement a nonsensical feature like this? What is it good for, open all links in the same tab as a standard? It simply negates the principle of tabs itself. Tabs were invented for opening links, thus to improve usability. Do the developers USE Opera?

            @bugs25 Whether a link will be opened in a new tab or in the current one is a decision of the page's authors. Allowing users to decide where links should be opened implies in changing pages content, what could cause issues.

            Besides this, I would say that most people don't use to open links on new tabs that often.

              you can also click the wheel if you have one or the middle mouse button if you are on a laptop that has that or such an old mouse.

              some laptops also allow to treat click both mousekeys to middle mouse button.
