Opera 49+ downloading swfs instead of playing in-browser, as well as all chromium based browsers

No. I'm not downgrading. I'll modify it if I have to, I just want to be able to view my files. Literal only reason I'm using firefox.

Did you install a PPAPI version of Flash? Did you enable it in Settings?
Chromium-based browsers use a different plug-in than Firefox does, so you need to have the PPAPI version. But also, recent versions of Chromium - and hence of Opera - have Flash disabled by default.
