Speed dial suddenly forcing unwanted tiles on me

I've been using Opera on this machine for about 18 months. Opened it today to find a load of Argos, Airbnb Amazon etc etc tiles at the top of my speed dial page, despite having suggestions turned off, and these were all prominently places at the top? Why? and what's the point - I don't use those sites, so I deleted the tiles. Very annoying and intrusive experience
