On 16 Feb 2018, while searching for new Opera downloads, I found a website at "operasoftware.com" and downloaded a new version of Opera, but there were a lot of things wrong (different) with the program that I installed on my Windows 10 pro. There was no vpn that I could find. I had enough trouble with the setup that I went back and checked the download location from which I got my program and discovered two .com sites with names similar to Opera's but different enough that I removed the download, cleared my registry and downloaded a fresh copy from the original Opera.com. That is the version I installed with no problem and am using successfully now. The other suspicious site is "operamediaworks.com"
If these are legitimate "new" versions of Opera, my question is "Why?" They are in the Google Chrome format, otherwise known as "tattle tail". -

@wayng http://www.operasoftware.com/ is not new, it's the (old) Opera's business to business site.
The 'download Opera' there just redirect to 'http://www.opera.com/download', where you can download the current online installer for Opera.
http://operamediaworks.com/ is now https://www.adcolony.com/ and is a company owned by Opera Software ASA, now called Otello Corporation.
