"History" constantly clears itself

Hi all, this is my first post as a new user of Opera.
I have noticed that every time Opera is closed the history is cleared. This is not helpful if I want to check the history for "yesterday" or earlier. It even loses the history for sessions earlier the same day. Am I missing a setting somewhere or is this a common problem?

@steveq There is something wrong with your installation. Try those steps.

Also try disabling any security and/or privacy software.

Hi, I've tried all the suggestions but the problem still persists.
I'm running Windows 10 64-bit.
Opera version 51.0.2830.34
Any more ideas?

@6stevesopera Install Opera Portable and check if the problem happens with it too.
