I have just re-installed Opera Mail on my New hard drive (Windows FCU trashed my old one - repairs cost me £200 thanks Microsoft) When I open the mail program it does not go to the first email shown, always half way down the page and therefore I have to scroll to the top. Not a major issue but annoying. Anyone got a tip please.

What Opera Mail is doing is the correct behavior and there's no setting to make it do anything else.
However, there is a workaround. Before closing a message list tab or Opera, Ctrl + left-click whatever message in the list is currently selected to deselect it so that no messages are selected. Next time the list is opened, Opera will automatically select the top message (or bottom depending on list sorting).
