Multiple User/Profile support

@meersau technically, yes. But I already have 4 gmail accounts. I don't want to create also 4 Opera accounts and use only one of those per gmail account, keeping in mind which I've coupled with. Too complex.
Also, the Opera account does not include a record of the addons installed, only history and bookmarks. So, I could not have let's say one configuration to work and one for my spare time. That Chromium/Chrome menu is a simple and yet wonderful user experience solution.

That does not fall under multi user. For exactly such a purpose, I also use several Opera profiles, as far as the private mode is not enough.

Yes open that internal chromium configuration......
I meant for the devs to open that for users to use from get-go - not by tons of different extensions.

@itman Wholeheartedly agree. I think there should also be a "guest" support option, so that people who want occasional one-time browser uses could do so without conflicting with anyone else's data. It's a major feature to get Opera to really be competitive.

Would love a feature like this. I have 3 sets of logins I use daily on almost every social media account and very much need multiple profiles/browsers to keep all of my bookmarks and logins separate from each other to avoid having to log in and out constantly and having too many bookmarks.

For cases like this, - and depending on the install, Portable Device version seems to reset Extensions, so, initially it will not work -, you can use a Password Manager with an extension for needed browsers, and TeamSync Bookmarks - CHR Extension, "Install Chrome Extensions" Extension needed - .
-
Password Manager (Extension):
It will allow you to access many DDBB from almost any device - cloud needed -, so it will no matter the profile you'll be using. -
TeamSync (Extension):
It allows you to create Bookmarks folders and share them.
So you can put Bookmarks in folders linked to another user/account/profile.

+1 for this feature. The feature has been technically removed from Chromium by Opera

Separate profiles in Opera with: cookies, bookmarks, settings, extensions? One word: YES!
My proposals for changes in Opera (Google Document).
- There are not enough signs to put all the links here. -

...more than a year, 7800 views and only 16 votes including me. Is there another feature request where the action is? For me, not supporting multiple profiles is a deal breaker and that's why I'm using Chrome. Firefox has it but implementation is poor. Vivaldi now has it from chromium, needs to work on it a bit but Vivaldi doesn't provide an Android App so that's no option either. I really like Opera and it's features but they should start listen to their users like Vivaldi does and build an ecosystem with syncing (why Opera Touch cannot sync?) like Google does. Opera looks sooo cool since version 60 but why are they stopping halfway? -

Vivaldi browser already has the ability to create multiple profiles. And there is also the possibility to create a guest profile.

M forced to use opera beta for my other profile. This could b opera's tactic to force users to use beta.
M dyed in the wool hardcore opera fan, I couldn't switch to another browser. Even after it was sold to China or wherever.

@moongya1
You can use a command line switch shortcut "user data dir" and run many profiles on the same installation.

@zalex108 thanks for the tip, but its applicable for windows, i am on debian. there are other ways to achieve the same on linux as well but the fact remains that opera does not provide the profile feature natively and we have to use workarounds or use beta browser for separate profile. Nevertheless I appreciate your comment and tip. thank you and happy Easter!

I would like this as well. Switching between 3 Opera profiles is confusing, and a GUI way to start and switch between would be nice. Is the forums the best way for feature requests? I can live with using Chrome for multiple profiles, but I would like to stop using Chrome as I only have 16GB of memory and a 3 year old Intel i7 in my laptop.

Opera seems to be the only browser that does not support multiple profile ootb, ff, chrome, vivaldi they all do, not sure about safari. come-on Opera its 2019 multiple profiles is one of the basic features of a browser. Opera has always been ahead of the game in terms of adding features, sadly they have dropped the ball it seems
