Very slow download speeds for Opera Developer deb package

Hi
The download speed of Opera Developer deb package is very slow, it's measured by bytes per second of so slow it is.
This happens exclusively with Opera, be it the Developer version, sometimes, Beta and, very rarely, Stable.
Could something be done to make the download speeds higher?
Thank you.

I was downloading from the Opera repositories: https://deb.opera.com/opera-stable/
Using sudo apt upgrade.

I just joined to share your pain.
This has been a frustration for me. I'm downloading from US and for months if not years I've experienced slow downloads from the Opera repositories: https://deb.opera.com/opera-stable/ @95 kb/s!
What I did to "mitigate" the issue (because I don't believe Opera cares much about these ridiculously slow downloads) was to switch to HTTP so that my LAN proxy would cache the packages. Obviously, my "solution" is not optimal and the first download is always slow (as usual) but once your squid proxy or a proxy of some kind gets the package you do not depend on Opera's server for additional downloads. In my case I was updating 7 machines and Opera updates made me go through a hell lot of coffee.
If you do have a proxy cache in your LAN and you are not caching HTTPS (MITM), just edit /etc/apt/sources.list.d/opera-stable.list :
### This file makes sure that Opera Browser is kept up-to-date
### as part of regular system upgradesdeb https://deb.opera.com/opera-stable/ stable non-free#Opera Browser (final releases)
deb http://deb.opera.com/opera-stable/ stable non-freeUltimately, a better solution is to switch to a different browser; that one has worked for me pretty well.

Hi, it's better to switch to https://deb.operacdn.com/
We are aware of this problem and work on serving deb.opera.com from a CDN too.
It's more complicated because the certificate needs to be issued on our behalf, and it is a time-consuming procedure. -

Hi, I have changed the repository and the download speed increased from 8 kB/s to 200 kB/s for Opera Developer, this is a great improvement.
I noticed the instructions are not updated to the new address.

@furret29 Thanks for reporting this improvement!
Hopefully, deb.opera.com soon will be served by the same infrastructure, so we will be able to download new releases in full speed. -

FYI: HTTP2 and IPv6 is fully supported for some time on https://deb.opera.com and https://rpm.opera.com
Enjoy!
