When I posted mine, there was another complaining about extremely slow response of VPN and within 5 minutes of this post, they were deleted without any explanation. What the heck ?

I'm not a mod here, but perhaps it's because there is already a lengthy thread ( https://forums.opera.com/topic/23878/is-vpn-with-problem-now/129 ) on the subject, in which you could post? Adding more threads about it won't get things resolved an faster or get better explanations than in https://forums.opera.com/post/13580 and also in Opera's own blog post: http://blogs.opera.com/desktop/2017/12/opera-49-updated-renewed-vpn/.

I have seen that post and it was originated 24 days ago. My issue started this morning, after a forced browser (opera) upgrade, after the screen displayed VPN is no longer compatible with your browser version, today -

They are being merged with this topic.
There seems to have a bug in the forum software that shows the topics as deleted without mentioning the merge.

Thank you for the pointer, but I have to repeat the same thing I wrote above. If this is an issue known for 24 days, whey was I not able to experience it until this morning ? And after a forced upgrade I ended up experiencing it.
By the way I installed SurfEasy VPN plugin and it works fine, but since the web site I have to go is flash heavy with remote desktop access, that ~1GB limit SurfEasy gives you will be chewed up before the day ends.

@melthegreat The topic is for VPN issues in general, related to the changes in VPN servers.
You weren't noticing those problems until now because only with the release of Opera 50 this Thursday, Opera's stable channel got the new VPN.
Then this question begs to be asked:
If there are known issues with the VPN servers and how they react with the new version of Opera, why was the new version got forced on users like myself ? When I say like myself, I mean people whose one previous version of installed software was working fine as far as VPN goes. Obviously this issue was known for at least 25 days and still unsolved. Why force push everyone to upgrade to a buggy product ? I mean I am in IT and if I do something like this in my enterprise, which is much smaller than the user base of Opera, my rear end would be out of the door so fast that, I would not realize what happened. Yet I am looking at a product, which doesn't work, on my desktop. Great job Opera! Bravo ! -

i think they can fix this mess by dumping all threads about the vpn problems into one thread and putting up a banner asking members to post their vpn issue there instead of creating a new thread.
i agree with the one poster why the text box on the right when you're creating a post. not needed.
