ok well after my embarrassing opening salvo i've worked out that if i add my search engine as an app then when i open a new tab it's there like a home button in the wrong place.
i sure that any time soon some 40 year old, cardigan wearing, kid who lives with his mother is going to tell that i can make ixquick my default search engine.
did i say, i quite like opera and my boys have now installed it?

It's easier to follow if you post your followups in the same thread. Yes, I understand, both were held for moderation (I approved them), but some patience would have made it easier,
As far as it goes, after all the search hijackers other browsers have seen (where some third party program changes your search engine in your browser) Opera made sure that you can only set one of the built-in engines as default.
