WebGL doesn't work only in Opera

  • ![Macbook Pro 2011, MacOS 10.13.1, Opera 49.0.2725.34

When I use Opera to open a site with WebGL, tells me that "This browser supports WebGL but it is disabled or unavailable". With Firefox I can use WebGL without problems...
I have already checked the options to enable WebGL in Opera.

    Screenshots (Opera and then Firefox):

  • See if opera://gpu says that WebGL is enabled and if hardware acceleration is on.

  • Thank you for the reply!

  • Hardware acceleration seems disabled or not working for some reason and probably that's why WebGL is also not working.

  • Maybe I'm wrong, but I think so: if WebGL works in Firefox and not in Opera, the problem is Opera... in my opinion this is a bug or less functionality ...

  • @the-blinded is correct. I have a similar setup - latest version of Opera, latest version of Sierra, 2011 MacBook Pro. WebGL works in every other browser but cannot be enabled in Opera. This is a bug in Opera. 0_1513757682105_Screen Shot 2017-12-20 at 12.14.10 AM.png

  • Not quite sure it's an Opera bug...
Latest version running under High Sierra:

  • I am using Opera 49.0.2725.39. I have MacOS 10.12.6. WebGL 1 & 2 both show as working for me. That is more than I can say about Safari and Pale Moon. With those browsers, WebGL 2 is not working.

  • BTW: Latest Opera version now is 49.0.2725.64.
