Default Search engine constantly defaults to google

I do not not use Google for search. Not interested in debating that. I keep changing the search engine default to another search engine. When I exit Opera and restart, Google always returns as the default! I have even deleted it totally from the search options, it still keeps coming back. Anybody have any ideas as to what is going on?

No, but try clearing all your browser cookies for Google and see if that maes a difference. Or just clear all browser cookies if the first doesn't do it. I've never heard of what you're describing.

Which version of Opera are you using?
Opera 12.17 does allow you to change the default search engine, but it will always be reset after restarting. Use Opera 12.14 or earlier.
