Opera Icon missing in taskbar

Im running Windows 10 x64 v1703.

After updating to the latest Opera version 46.0.2597.39 (PGO) the browser tries to immortalize itself by placing a fixed icon in the taskbar.

As soon as I remove this fixation from the taskbar, on next restart of Opera the icon shown changes to that of an app without icon (turquoise square within a white rectangle).

Doing a repair installation again throws me a fixed icon into the taskbar I don't want.

??!?

How to fix this?

Try going to task bar folder and remove the shortcut to Opera.
