Change the start page

In opera 45 how can I change the startup page? I don't see an option in settings. In the past I think I used extensions to change the start page but I've tried several which don't work. So how can I change the start page? Not all of us LIKE speed dial as our start page.

That only allows you to set the pages displayed when a new browser is opened. Not when you open a new tab. So not really a solution to the issue.

Well, you asked about changing start page not about how to open a new tab with the page you want.
If an extension doesn't help then I guess it's not possible to do it.
