I have been using Opera on Windows XP for a long time. Currently on latest version 36.0.2130.80

I have tried to update my Flash player, however, it says installation has failed. Basically, the last two updates from Adobe Flash don't work. That is version 26.0.0.131 and the one before that (I think version 26.0.0.126).

I un-installed Flash. But I still cant install Flash again.

Something is broken. I have been able to update Flash in the past. Kind of fustrating not being able to watch videos.

Mobile phones don't have Flash, but they support HTML5, so should HTML 5 videos be working? How do I get it to work?

Sites like Youtube should always use HTML5 for videos. Other sites ... may or may not. I seem to recall there being an extension to force videos to HTML5, but can't say if it works well.

The new Flash 26.0.0.131 is working fine here on Opera 36 on XP, at least the test sites say it's OK.
YouTube is using HTML5 for me, and that's working fine too.

            Reboot.
            Or even hard-reboot.
Make sure your Adobe Incarnation is set to "always upgrade" first.
            Cheers!

(What do you want? XP gets increasingly "resentful" :XP: )

It did work - it installed, after a hard reboot. Adobe did it itself having been set to "automatic".
The day before that, I tried by the notifications - always "failed": it couldn't poke it through on to the system by some reason.

Try the Adobe Flash uninstaller tool, reboot and reinstall it again.

                    I managed to re-install Flash. I am on 26.0.0.131

                    I still have two issues:

                    1. When I clear my browsing history (beginning of time) and then I try to verify this by going into
Cookies -> All cookies and site data.

Some cookies seem indestructible. There is a cookie for AirBnb (6 Feb 2017), which I last visited in 2016 and web.whatsapp.com (last modified Sunday 26 September). I have visited these sites, but a long time ago.

Even when I delete the 'individual cookie', it will delete, but when I got back to see which cookies I have it is still there. I did have browsersync.io installed (but I was playing with some web development tools, but there is no un-install, so must have removed it... but it was some time back).

                    (I don't have Turbo enabled).

                    1. When I go to Twitter, and some people upload videos. When I click on it, I get 'The media council not be played'.

On another thread it says to try opera:gpu

                    This is the result:
