Could the classic Opera browser (Opera 12.18) connect to Opera Turbo service?

If I remember correctly, it used to have such feature.

I think it could when turbo enabled, however, if broadband was detected it would sometimes automatically operate in non-turbo. But that was with the older v12's, pre 12.18.

v11.01 1190 - turbo is working, 50% saved.
it is under tools>quick preferences, but secure connections seem to bypass turbo servers

Turbo acts as a proxy (with all Turbo traffic routed thru Opera's servers), so the Opera browser of necessity should bypass Turbo's use for secure connections. Otherwise the Turbo server would be inserting itself as a man-in-the-middle on secure data transactions, and that's not something you want for secure/encrypted/certificated communications paths.
