Select multiple tabs and drag to a new window

It's also super weird, that even with the new "islands" feature it's not possible to drag and drop an island into a new window, still only single tabs and nothing else.

@panicpug it really is totally weird.
I wonder if this will ever be implemented and what the reason is it has not been implemented yet.
Also I don't get it why we cant create tab-groups additionally to Workplaces, because with implementing tab-groups it would be also technically much more easier to implement this feature by just simply right click on the marked/selected tabs and send them to a specific tab-group.

I was thinking the same thing. I have a cautious hope that now that islands have been implemented, a future update will allow you to move an island to a new window, but considered that I made this request 6 years ago, I'm not holding my breath.

It's weird, because you can select multiple tabs, but you can't move them. I think that there's some plugin, probably, but at least you can move tabs from one window to another. That's not to bad for me, seeing as I only have to do that with around 5, but it's getting increasingly more difficult. I'm thinking of saving my two different windows separately in some folder, but still, it would be very useful.

@sparky132 As said, when a flag is disabled by default, it means that it's not ready to be used. So the expected behavior of such flags are that they don't work at all

Recently moved from Chrome, and it's been 90% fine but was pretty shocked to see that such a basic feature as moving multiple tabs wasn't a thing. Basically everything I would need from chrome worked fine here, other than moving tabs. I use it constantly in Chrome and not having it definitely slows down moving tabs to another window massively.
At least it's supposedly being worked on but it should really have been prioritised a very long time ago for such an extremely basic feature thats in pretty much every other browser. I can't possible imagine why it wouldn't be a basic feature there from the start.

@nadiayorc It works in Opera 110.0.5130.39 64-bit on Windows 11 23H2 when the "Drag multiple tabs" flag is on at the URL
opera://flags/#drag-multiple-tabs
is enabled (it's enabled by default). Not only does it work with multiple tabs outside of a tab island selected, but you can drag a tab island out of a window into a new window too and all its tabs go with it. -

@burnout426 I was actually using Opera GX when I made the comment, in which it doesn't seem to work yet, but since making the comment I tried out non-GX and was happy to see it did indeed work exactly as I would like it to.
Even though I do use my PC for gaming a lot I realised I personally don't really have much need for the GX-exclusive features but it would be nice if it worked in GX as well for the people using it.

This is working for me now on Opera version 109.0.5097.80. Finally! (opera://flags/#drag-multiple-tabs is enabled by default and working correctly). Thank you. It only took 7 years!

@burnout426 I guess I should say thanks to Opera for finally implementing this feature, but I'm choking on those words a bit because it took 7 freakin' years to get it done.
