It would be nice to stop using apps like Franz or Station if we could get Slack (and Skype, and Gmail) integrations.

Hoooo yeah. Great idea. +11
OR! Better still, can the browser expose some kind of API for 3rd parties to write their own integrations like this? I use Slack and Microsoft Teams - there's are hundreds of platforms. Limiting the options to just a few built-in apps seems a bit inflexible.

Hey guys, saw a couple of really old Slack messenger requests,
I feel like at this moment and time this request would be more valid than ever!We use slack for our team and it would be amazing if we could have Slack added to the side bar too.
What do y'all think?

This is strange when Opera added integration with Vkontakte but did not add Slack -

waiting for this extension, I've been using social extensions in the side bars and created a workspace for work where I pined slack as the first tab / app of the workspace so it looks like an embedded app but well...
definitely in the need of the slack extension in the sidebar !

I also think it would be great to add Slack as a messenger option, it seems to be used by a lot of business/professional groups as well as communities, like the communities on Discord. Personally I don't care for Slack that much but I work in a team that uses it, and I think it'll be another great option for a good number of people.

+1 I also hope that we'll get a Slack Messenger integration soon.
I've tried to create a custom extension for this, but Slack does not allow loading its UI inside an iframe.
If you're a developer: You are welcome to review the extension code (it's super simple) and see if you can find a way to make it work.
