Simple, I hope: How to send page via email?

Hello all, I have what I hope is a simple problem though I can't seem to find anything about this, either in the unsearchable help pages, or here in the forums. Searching on "send page by email" or other similar terms only brings up irrelevant search results about Chrome errors and such. A search for any extensions like "Send this page by email" for Chrome finds only extensions that will send pages to specific other pages/sites. I see no option in Settings to enable such a basic function, and nowhere in the Menu is a "Send page" function. Am I missing something? Just want to send a url in my default email program, like I do with all my other browsers without copying the link, starting a message pane, copying the link, etc. Generally, this function has been getting more convoluted over the years with all browsers, and, to me, is a very strange thing for developers to ignore in a browser.
Using on a Windows 7 Home Premium 64 os (among others).

I use the Share link via email extension for Chrome. The "Send page via email" option is the one that will pass to your default mail client. You can install it in Opera too if you first install the Download Chrome Extension extension. But, I think there are some extensions on addons.opera.com too.
See https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/mailto-button/?display=en for example.

leocg: "Old stuff"? I am using the Help function from within the latest version of Opera. I also wrote that I had done a search within the Extensions pages that found ZERO extensions to do what I want, and used the term "send page by email" among others.
burnout426: I have gone to the link you provided and that extension is what I would like, except that once installed it doesn't work. It starts to open a new tab, like the "Send this Page by Email" Chrome extension does, but does not open a message window in my default email client. Sigh
Since Chrome removed this function (have to believe Opera did the same at the same time, Chromium and all that) I have felt this is a giant step backward to have removed this BASIC functionality. When did folks stop sending web pages to their friends and families?

I would have to check but I don't remember it even mentioning such a send by email feature.
Did you get there by pressing F1 or by going to Menu > Help?

Try one for sharing pages.

Close Opera. In the control panel, under "Default Programs", make sure your mail client has all its defaults. But, specifically make sure it's handling the "mailto" protocol. If your mail client already has all its defaults, set it to something else and then back to your mail client. Then, start Opera and try again.
If that doesn't work, we can investigate the registry to see if the proper command for your mail client is listed under the "mailto" protocol.
