@support: feedback about this version of OPERA (18.x)

I'm sorry for beeing honest but I must say it: this is by far the WORST Opera version ever!
I mean, everything that was good and usefull in the previous versions simply dissapeared:-
the copy to note option(and the notes too)
-
pin/ STACK tabs one on top of the other
-
bookmarks, Save session, Ctrl+ Enter option, .... and so on.
I don't know who's responsible for takin such a poor decision, but I hope, for the love of God someday peope will put back all those precious features that used to make of Opera the greatest web browser.
good day ! -

I have to say I agree. I've been using Opera for years and years, and over night you just killed it for me..
My main issues so far (There might be more, but I just can't get past these..):1. The fading of tab-text. Why? I usually have a lot of tabs open, and I want to be able to read as much tabtext as possible, and the fading out of the text at the end (or halfway across..) the tab is just moronic!
2. The help. There is no friggin' help out there. Tried searching for aide with my tab issues, and your own instructions is to go to setting>advanced>tab (or something to that effect) which doesn't even exist in your "settings" any more..
3. Ctrl+enter gone??!? One of the single most powerful and useful shorts are now out of commission? Now we're left with a sub-par IE clone functionality? I am devastated..
4. RMB+scroll to cycle tabs gone too?!? Also one of the best shorts/gestures out there. Made flipping tabs on the fly a breeze. Ctrl+tab just doesn't cut it..
5. The worst: You've actually taken something good and made it worse by removing functionality and features, and present it to me as something better. SHAME ON YOU!
Until features I've been using Opera exclusively for since release is back I'll have to seek the functionality elsewhere. Perhaps Firefox has a plugin for it..
I'm sorry for being an jack"#ยค here, but Opera has been my sole browser-love and now you've gone of and hung yourself..

Please search before posting, and use the right forum.
The Feedback forum is for feedback about MyOpera.

I did search. I searched "opera 18" and got nada. Then searched "tabs and mousegestures" and got a whole lotta pages and then some. Nothing relating to my frustration up front.
AAAAND when I registered today to vent my frustration I couldn't access any forums. Unregistered every forum shows, but after log in only the right colum of forums shows (The one starting with "the lounge"). This happens on both opera and IE. The OP thread here happened to pop under the latest discussion or whatnot, and so I jumped at that one.
So I've tried my very best, well; as very best as I could muster at the time, not to be of any nuisance to you. And if I despite this happened to offend you I can only state that your response probably aggravate me no less..
But in the spirit of all that's pink and pretty: Thank you for your helpful response dearest Pesala. Without your insight I'd be truly stranded.

I agree, this is a total mess! I read the post by the main guy in charge, addressing the issue of the insane removal of bookmarks, and he promised it was getting "top priority", and they will be re-introduced very soon. Well, that was July 10th, and it's now December 12th!!
So much for any priority, much less "top"..... what crap. How you can create a browser with such crippling changes, and call it an update, is about as absurd as anything can be. Every day I try to use this (Opera 18, most current build), it makes me want to scream, as I instinctively want to bookmark various tabs! How are users supposed to return to sites we want to, write them down in a notebook, and leave it sitting by our computer???So, since nothing's been done in almost six months, I can no longer put any veracity in what anyone from Opera tells us, so holding our breath waiting for a simple thing like bookmarks, is not advisable.....

Has it really been almost six months already since July 10th? I make it barely past five months.
I would have thought you could have found the bookmarks by now, since they were implemented on August 14th, just over one month after they said they would implement them. Read the whole blog post.
This is the first iteration; QAB will be further developed in future releases to allow nicknames, and search through bookmarks by keywords from the addressbar. Note: Right-click to manage QAB is not yet implemented on Windows.
The Quick Access Bar is built upon the newly-implemented Bookmarks API, so you can get extensions to interact with it. For example, you can download a bookmarks menu extension and then disable the QAB from the interface to save space.

Fine, ok, so "barely past five months", my point still stands, why should it take so long, and so many updates before they just put back what they took out?
As for "finding the bookmarks", what "whole blog post" are you referring to? And you've still not directed me as to where this QAB that even Opera Help explains or tells where it's hidden.... And why jerry rig & use all kinds of half-assed extensions to utilize what was already working just fine as it was, for decades, especially when we've been told the return of bookmarks is imminent? Why tell us it''s coming as soon as possible, or specially that Version 18 will see their return, when neither has been the case?

The one that I linked to. You managed to find the one on July 10th OK, and to misquote it. Bookmarks were indeed returned on August 14th with the release of Opera 17 as promised, in the very next final release of Opera after July 10th.

Look, I don't want to start calling anyone names, but you are like a troll, sniping and insulting everyone, and generally being of no help whatsoever. I've asked you several times already to please show me where "bookmarks" can be found, if as you say, they've been back since version 17. Yet, to this day, you haven't. So, either be of some help, or go get your kicks insulting people face to face.... It's so courageous doing so online...

I thought eceryone was being ridiculous about the bookmarks, but if I can't sort the stupid stash and create folders within it, then all i have is a list that is ridiculous. I want to be able to decide how these are to be found, meaning I need to decide the titles.
I'm not sure what you were all thinking with this, but you've made the browser a useless tool for continued use. Requiring that I join the forum in order to send feedback is also a massive instrusion.
I'm leaving.

The stated purpose of this forum is for Opera users to help other users solve technical or usage problems. Unfortunately, the title of this thread, implying that "feedback" is somehow an appropriate forum use, has not been moderated/removed and has given a misleading impression of what the hosting forum is about. This is neither a Feedback nor a Comments forum. Those helping in this forum are not "Opera Support" nor are they Opera employees. Opera's employees have and occasionally do browse these forums, but their participation or viewing is sporadic and voluntary on their part. Simply complaining here about the design of an Opera version will accomplish nothing. If you have a technical or settings problem that we can help walk you through, various folks would be more than glad to try.
Otherwise, registration is a necessary evil on most quality forums, unless the forum managers want to lose control of the forum to spammers, phishers, and flamers. I'm sorry you fail to understand that.

It is amazing to me how many one-time posters simply do not grasp the purpose of this help forum. Since he/she clearly does not understand the way in which bookmarks can be achieved in the new Blink browser, one would expect the poster to ask. Instead, we receive a small rant and a terse: Good-bye.

One thing some other forums have and that i would like to see here in the new forum is moderation for, at least, first time posters. I think it would help avoiding useless rant posts and spam.

I would hope you who's sh*t doesn't stink would sometime flip through your past posts, and see just how many are nothing more than "useless rant posts", personal attacks, and comments with a condescending & belittling tone. Then perhaps you might think before opening up on others, thus looking & sounding like total hypocrites. Plus, many of you don't even behave like you've even read some of the posts you are so quick to diss. The poster initially stated that he didn't like that he had to sign up for the forum "IN ORDER TO SEND FEEDBACK", which is what he had been attempting to do, plus he had tried various searches that had turned up nothing relevant. Yet instead of help, he get's piled on by you self-appointed forum Sheriffs.... You don't have badges, you aren't, as you so often proclaim, employees of Opera, so please, quit acting like you are, and if you don't someone's post, just don't respond, how's that for a concept?

It has been discussed before, but unfortunately there are just too many new users.
June 2013
New members = 405801
Max. members in a day = 15048
Min. members in a day = 12690
Daily average = 13527
Percentage increase = 2.38%It works very well on smaller forums. Here, the best policy is to try to calm down the excitable boys, and report posts for moderation.

Opera doesn't have a "feedback" option that I know of. There are, however, a wide variety of other options for asking questions, getting help, or making contact, available at the various Opera web portals. If Opera doesn't want "feedback", that's their choice in how they run their business and their websites. These forums have rules linked clearly at the top, regarding what they're for and what conduct is expected... and "feedback" is not part of it. That any of the complaint-related threads and postings have remained alive thus far and not been moderated out of existence is remarkable, in light of Opera's past policies on this.
@jennj's post does not include a single question nor request for help. All it contains is a rant about the user's problems with a browser (apparently Opera 18, but that's not even stated). The descriptions used, probably out of frustration but rude nonetheless, are: "ridiculous, stupid, ridiculous, useless, massive-intrusion". That's not a polite way to ask or note anything, particularly for a first-time poster coming newly to a helps forum. From the other comments in the post, I can readily deduce that there were some underlying user questions that could have been asked, but never were: how do I sort stash? how do I create folders within Stash? where can I send feedback and complaints to Opera? However, that was not done, but instead a harsh rant was posted.
I haven't, nor do I intend to, track all your posts... I've certainly got better things to do in life. But to my observation, I've yet to come across a single constructive "helps" post you've made in the various and many threads in which I've encountered your postings. Virtually all those I've encountered have been critical rants about Opera ASA, its browser versions, or other posters. Even a specific question or two that you've asked regarding technical issues, to which I've responded, you've never followed up on. Why your unbounded negativity about the redesign of a browser that costs you absolutely nothing? Why the attacks on other users who are simply pointing out the forum rules and the obvious fact that Opera owes you nothing? Why are you even here in a "helps" forum?

Have you considered anger-management counseling? Your posts appear to reveal a very angry man and anger is not good for one's health. BTW... don't raise your voice; improve your argument.
If you have a question about your browser why not ask it... politely? If you're simply here to whine and rant (which to date seems to be your reason for posting), then you really should just leave.
