when I upgrade for so called security update reasons and the entire look and feel is changed, facebook whatsap and other garbage is added I call BS

the opera I loved in 12 was not like this, this is chrome and no longer the alternative browser

updates should have check boxes, do you want new garage,,check box,,,yes or no

time once again to hunt for an actual alternative browser, not the same mainstream CRAP

How long has it been since you attempted to apply a 'security update' before this? If not since Opera 12 days, you've skipped several years and 30+ versions, not to mention a total redesign of the browser starting with version 15 (13 and 14 being essentially omitted). The new architecture of Opera is completely incompatible with the architecture of Opera 12, so no 'checkbox' is possible. Of course, you're free to seek alternative browsers, but you'll find them all quite different, either functionally or architecturally or both, from what you knew in Opera 12.
