Open file instead of save

I use a dashboard that uses Teamviewer to connect to client computers, whenever I click to connect it gives me a .tvc file to connect, but in 44 there appears no way to set it to always open these files once downloaded, or to set it to open instead of downloading.
This is simply annoying as it was a feature in previous versions and, while the Edge-like lightweight feel of V44 is wonderful it's just making me use another browser for this one function.
I suppose this also applies to using Azure and likely other scenarios, such as PDFs.
Please could this be considered as an option?
