Open (e-mail) links in a new window instead of a tab

I'm in a mood to switch from Firefox to Opera after 10 years. However there is one annoyance that holds me back. Links from apps like e-mail and documents or a command line on Windows desktop open in a new tab of a running Opera window with no option to set it otherwise. I don't use tabs, I don't like them (mainly because of switching between apps by Alt+Tab and the title on taskbar). I want links from apps to open in a new fresh browser window like the do in Firefox.
I've spent hours of searching but I can't find a solution to this important issue for me. I've only read such settings had been implemented in the past (Advanced options) but now it's gone. I stronly vote to have it back as an option (not necessarily by default). Until than I'm afraid I have to fall back to Firefox for this only reason. Thank you.
