Sage Pay Doesn't Work on Retail Sites

I can't use Opera to purchase items on retail sites as I keep getting an internal server error at the verification stage. This doesn't happen with Chrome. I'm running x64 Opera on Win 7 x64.

I don't think that this is a problem with Opera as much as with Sage Pay. I was really wondering if anyone else had the same problem. I tried with and without the extension (uBlock Origin). I'm using the latest version of Opera. Sorry I wasn't explicit in my first post. My guess is that Sage Pay isn't recognising Opera properly. I thought I'd report it in case anyone else had the same problem. Thanks.

I disagree, it can help other people who have had the same problem to realise it is a problem related to Opera and that the problem is probably not their own hardware or software.
It also brings the problem of not working in Sage Pay to the attention of Opera developers who could then possibly contact Sage Pay about this problem with Sage Pay's server not recognising Opera as a browser.
The topic has meaning as it is related to Opera and a specific site, i.e. Sage Pay. I can't be the only person with this problem.

OK, thanks, that might work. It's come to my attention that the Vivaldi browser (also Chromium/Blink based) also suffers from this bug.

So could be the website it's not optimized, or chromium has a security breach on it.

So it's a problem with Opera or not?

Yep, they can do it but it will always be better if a real user contact them.

You may send an email to report them the problem about chromium based browsers. The odd thing is that Chromium, Chrome and other browsers work in Sage Pay as far as I can tell. I think someone from Opera or Vivaldi needs to contact Sage Pay if they want them to make it compatible. I can always use a different browser, but it would be nice if Opera worked on Sage Pay.

Well, it is a problem if you want to use Sage Pay in Opera. lol
I'm not sure how to contact Sage Pay and I'm not sure if they'd be that interested in a user's problem in a specific browser. I'd have thought it would carry far more weight if someone from Opera informed them that their users are having problems with Opera in Sage Pay.

It's exactly the opposite: more users complaining is better than the browser authors doing it.
Anyway, did the user agent switcher resolved the issue?

Anyway, did the user agent switcher resolved the issue?I doubt users would carry much weight, as technically they can just use another browser, and I doubt Sage Pay would pay any real attention to users for the same reason.
I haven't tried the user agent switcher on Sage Pay so I can't really say. I only like to use uBlock Origin anyway and I don't trust all extensions, especially when making monetary transactions.
At the end of the day I can use a different browser for Sage Pay.

I'm guessing that they've coded for Chromium/Chrome (and other non-Blink based browsers) and don't realise that not all Chromium based browsers will actually work in Sage Pay.

It's not unusual that sites are tested only in the major browsers (IE, Chrome and Firefox) and the other ones, depending on what the site does, get a message saying that the site may not work with them or even are blocked.

Opera is a pretty well known browser though. I've used it for around nine years on and off.

If I'm not wrong, one of the reasons to move to Blink/Chromium was about the compatibility.
Despite Opera was the most respectful with standards so, it's a WebMasters responsibility to keep his websites updated and respecting standards and not the browser's creator to modify the problems caused by lazy WebMasters or disrespectful. What would happen if 'cheap' vehicles could not drive on the roads?
O.O The most absurd way, modify every "cheap vehicle" even whit a general road regulations. No sense.

Yes, it surprised me as I thought everything would work in a Blink based browser. I can possibly understand the Sage Pay web master not coding for Vivaldi, as it is comparatively new, and probably not well known but Opera's older than Firefox I believe! Although I liked the old Presto Opera I think the Chromium/Blink Opera is far superior in many ways. I've had a look at how to contact Sage Pay but unless you're a business it's difficult to send a message to them. Unfortunately, I'll have to open a different browser if I need to use Sage Pay, several of the retail sites I regularly use employ it. IIRC the old Presto Opera had a context menu option to open the page you are in in another browser. That might be a useful function to bring back.
