Download Opera
  • My problem is relatively simple, but annoying nonetheless. I'm running the newest version of Opera for Mac (in fact, it just updated again this morning), and through the past three versions or so, I can't click the "downloads" button on the toolbar to show me my recently downloaded files. Instead of doing as it is supposed to, it just crashes Opera- I lose all of my windows, and at no point does it ask if I'd like to reopen them. Is this just for me, or is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

  • Same thing if you go to the Downloads tab?

  • Yeah, same thing. Are you having the same problem?

  • Not currently, but some time ago - and in Windows. There is a corrupted item on the list, Opera crashes when it tries to display it. You could use Clear Private Data to erase the contents of the list so that you'll be able to display it properly in the future (minus displaying the file info on stuff you've previously downloaded of course), or you can wait until that item has purged itself (until you've downloaded enough files that you can't see the problem item any more). Naturally I'd suggest clearing the downloads history and just getting it over with.

Just go to Settings > Privacy & security and click on Clear browsing data. You'll get a dialog with checkboxes for 7 types of data you can clear - make sure Download history is checked, you can un-check the others if you like. Set the dropdown for "the past week" (or longer if you like), click the button to clear the data.

  • Thank you soooo much, it worked perfectly!
