Opear Help is useless just when I need it!

I've downloaded and installed Opera 20 (was that stupid of me?) and am trying to get my head round it, but the help pages are worse than useless! I did a search to see how I alter the number of columns in Speed Dial - the page it gives doesn't mention Speed Dial!
I tried to find out how the password manager works - does it still protect my passwords under a master password? I don't know because a search for "password" gets a page about bookmarks. Can I import my passwords from Opera 12.6? I don't know because the help, if it does say won't let me find the answer!
Maybe I'm being particularly obtuse, but so far I am not impressed with this new version. -

About Speed Dial: you can change the number of columns by activating advanced settings and activate small speed dial, then you can change.

About password manager: when you want to see a saved password, you will be asked to put you user password (Windows user passwords)

There is no master password in the Opera 12 sense - if you give someone access to your Windows account then they can login anywhere you have saved a login for. So don't give anyone access to your account unless you trust them.
If Opera 20 recognized your Opera 12 installation on your system, it should have imported your passwords automatically. Bookmarks - since 20 doesn't have bookmarks in the same sense as 12 did, they were not imported ... but you should find Bookmark Importer enabled in the Tools menu to import them as folders in either speed dial or the quick access bar.
