I see no "quick-go-home/bottom" button (actually I don't know how to call it ... please see the pic in the link below). Opera Mini has this button/function which is very convenient. Kindly consider to add this button/function to Opera Beta.

If you enable auto rotate and move your mobile or tablet from Portrait to Landscape mode physically the screen content should rotate too. Then rotate back. Is the Address/Search bar visible as it should be? And if you go back from Landscape to Portrait again does that temporarily fix this bug?

The last version 42.6.2246.114522 does not open the main page of the WiFi router Asus RT-N65U. After entering > > the login and password, a blank page opens. If you restart Opera and try again to open the address of the > > router, the page is opened without authorization. Tried on the Samsung Galaxy A3 (android 5.0.2), Samsung Galaxy > Tab3 (android 4.4.2), XiaomaMi5 (android 6.0.1)
I have the same problem. Following software with a web interface has problems, like some network printers at a fixed IP address in IPv4. Known products problems are:
- Some routers
- Some printers
- Emule and emule mods cannot remember password
- Tixati does not load but password is remembered
The solution to your problem is unfortunately to use Opera Beta for modern experience. And to download Android Opera Mobile that is still functioning on this matter from the Opera FTP site. In the Android directory you will find 3700, that will solve your problem. However you cannot downgrade a Google Play version so you must first uninstall the Google Play normal standard Opera. Then install the Opera version 3700.
(Until Opera has fixed these issues.)I have contacted several software providers since it happens to be that Google Chrome on Android has these same problems, and Opera and Chrome share the same render engine which obviously changed a lot.

How many Opera versions are there for Android?
The latest stable KitKat release is 3700.
From Marshmellow onwards Opera Beta from Google Play as of a few days ago does no longer have microstutter on Marshmellow or Nougat but with Kitkat you should stay with Opera 3700.
This has nothing to do with hardware capabilities. KitKat has an entire different onscreen Hardware Abstraction Layer when you look inside it. So with the same hardware upgraded to Marshmellow suddenly everything works very smooth. Your phone with 2 GigaByte RAM and a Quadcore 1.6 GigaHerz can run the latest Opera Beta fluently provided Marshmellow or later is installed. Did not test Lollipop.
Now there is also at Opera its FTP site in the Android directory OPERA CLASSIC version 12. That version does function at Home Network Webservers and with the software like Emule or Tixati or your Router or your Printer, and it even remembers passwords that Google Chrome and Opera Beta 42 as we speak today cannot remember or login to or perhaps able to login but display stays empty.
So basically you need all 3 kind of Opera's installed. Opera Classic version 12 for Emule, Opera 3700 for KitKat, Opera Beta for enjoying the World Wide Web as it is meant to be.
So there is not yet 1 united browser that does this. To be honest I have Firefox Mobile, Google Chrome Mobile, build in browser from Android, Opera 3700, Opera CLASSIC version 12 and the one I like most Opera Beta from Google Play.
So there are 3 browsers from Opera itself you need depending on scenario. And there are 3 browsers from other sources. So you need 6 browsers instead of 1 single browser. Unless you only visit Web Sites that rely on a single scenario usage only.
Desktop Browsers matured for a very long time, since 1994 I think it became publicly used. So Desktop Browsers evolved 17 years + 6 years equals 23 years to reach a steady state.
Mobile Browsers started taking of around 2007 as commonly used by the public since HSDPA (3G) and 2G Dataplans became affordable. Now Mobile browsers evolved for 10 years only.
In the future people will look back and probably say, how sad for all of us the tragedy, and they have powerful phones in the future I suppose but even better software more mature. And they might say, wow did they really had to wait to boot up a phone or a computer? Speculation. Hope you liked this post.

Opera please just stop what you are doing to Opera for Android and revert back to the user interface of v37. You are making an ugly mess of your browser and seem hell bent on doing so desptite constant and overwhelming user feedback.
We have a mutual best interest!

When do you finally plan to finish data saving feature (missing counter, easiwr access to on/off it)? Also that ugly new look, it's disgusting! Also missing translations fix in setting, wrong text alignment of text in setting menu... They're all long going issues and you absolutely do nothing about it. Just stupind and no needed ugly design changes!!

I'm surprised to see there was a new update. I was guessing, wondering, whether Opera for Android has been abandoned. The engine is still outdated and months passed with no major modifications.
If you think about it for a while, since Android Lollipop and later allows apps (therefore browsers) to use an updated Chromium engine through Android System Webview apk it'd potentially allow Opera to drop the full browser engine in favor of this method. I'm don't know the technical details but if such feature allows some customizations to provide what they want (like text wrap) we could see Opera for Android being phased out in favor of an unified Opera Mini (which already uses the Webview for the low/no compression modes and the Presto server only for Extreme mode) which is already under a very similar UI and has a lot more users. I also consider Opera Software's new owners may want to push Opera into this direction (I'm not saying it's wrong, it may be the optimal one and the benefit to reduce costs with development of a very little used product is there).
Just dropping my thoughts...
I'm not using Opera as my main browser at the moment because there are a number of perks and UI is lacking some basic stuff like being able to type something in the address field and have the autocomplete/search suggestions with the arrows beside it that allow you to put that text in the address field to continue typing to give a simple example.

@rafaelluik:
for me o4a is work in progress.
i've given up feedbacking to this trainwreck and use ff, yandex and snapdragon as big browsers on the android.
otoh opera mini is still very usable, 19 for video and the latest nightly beta from apkmirror (currently 27.****.118472 or sumting iirc) for casual internet access.
would recommend that setup.

opera mini is still on the .2254. codebase though, so not much new under the hood. but still running strong, robust and resilient; no reason to upfutz it.
otoh o4a is still very much explorative, a weak and buggy solution searching for a market.

Yesterday I've moved to Firefox (which is my default desktop browser for eternity). Used to use Opera as my default Android browser, but after lack of updates, lots of bugs, glitches (even those which have been reported months ago and still persist), after that awful UI uodate it's only reasonabke solution... Good bey for ever, eitherway this way you're gonna fail!

Firefox is going to have problems also. Version 57 (expected in November) will break most addons (the reason a lot of people use that browser).

sorry to hear you wanting to leave.
like you i have abandoned o4a, although i always use a number of other 'big' android browsers parallel for persec matters. and given up hope for any improvement on this mess as well.
opera would better scrap this wreck altogether and start from zero with a completely new concept. plenty ideas around from other browsers based on the chromium plus privacy options.
opera mini is still a must-have despite all attempts by opera to upfcuk it as well.
so, maybe see ya in the subforum for mini then.

heyho from beta 117704. i'm well known to complain, but this is quite impressive. i formally retract all previous comments re o4a being a trainwreck and would recommend to install and testrun this beta version.
currently running firefox/fennec/icecat, yandex, chromium swe for snapdragon, opera mini 19 and 27 beta plus uc mini and firefox focus, i am impressed by this opera's look and feel. as always there's some room for development (cookie management and other privacy issues), it has inherited permanent search engine selection and 3rd party cookies defence.
wow again, thanks and best wishes to the team.

Hi, I installed Opera 42.7.2246... to my new phone (with android 7.1.1). On my old phone pivate tab closed, when I close the Opera. But not closed when I just send to background. I call the foreground and continue the work.
Now on the new phone when I call the Opera foreground all private tabs disappear (with my all unsaved work)
Can I switch any settings to change this functioning?
