I installed new Opera several days ago to give it a try. It's much better than the first versions after switching to Chromium, and I like it and its unique features a lot. Unfortunately, there are also some issues.

The biggest issue for me is the scrolling performance. When I pull the scroll box up and down, the CPU is consumed up to 80-90% and is overall not smooth. It is not so noticeable on my desktop PC because it has enough power, but it's really bad on my ultrabook. The worst performance is on https://play.google.com/ but it's also noticeable on other pages except for really simple ones.

I compared it with the latest Chrome and it's good on Chrome. Had to remove Opera from my ultrabook and going to remove from desktop, because it make no sense to use it only on some of devices without synchronization.

      OS: Windows 10
      Opera: 42.0.2393.94

What is the current status of Hardware Acceleration inside Opera? Enabled or disabled?

Enabled by default. I also tried disabling it but it didn't help.

What anti-virus (or related software) is being used? What happens if you disable it?

I have the same issue in Windows 8.1. For instance, scrolling the speed dial always makes the CPU run at 100 %, and about 80 - 90 % when scrolling the browser history.

A Broadwell i5 CPU, 16 GB RAM and an SSD gets brought down to its knees by some scrolling 😃

                  HW accelertion is on.
I use Windows Defender, turning it off doesn't change anything.
