Opera>settings> privacy and security:

"Fetch images for suggested sources in News, based on history."

What does this do, in practical terms and can this slow down the performance?

BTW: batter bookmark sorting options would be nice. 3000+ bookmarks, can only sort by alphabet letters...

That option prefetches images for news categories you have used before, as a way to make it available sooner.
