Opera and Opera Mini, why two different browser?

Hi everybody!
I'd like to know why there are two browser that make same things.
For example, Opera Mini has the "extreme modality" to preserve data activated by default, if I turn off this option, Opera mini turns into normal Opera.
Then, Opera mini has a better looking and an ad block, it's faster and less buggy. -

No they are completely different browsers Opera mini targets people who need high compression and less bandwidth. Opera for mobile is for standard mobile browsing with complete javascript support. It uses more data than opera mini and less data than a firefox or chrome. U can find the difference by urself by just going into www.google.com by turnings on full compression and Single column view on.

As said, they are different products.
Opera for Android uses Chromium and traffic doesn't go through Opera's servers unless you are using data saving mode. Also, (almost) all work is done in the client side.
In Mini, all traffic goes through Opera's servers and data is more or less compressed depending on the mode you choose, high or extreme. In high mode Mini uses Android's webview and in extreme mode it works like old Mini, with hthe user getting a snapshot of the page after it have been processed in Opera's servers.
