Unable to connect to http://askubuntu.com/questions/* with VPN enabled

With VPN enabled I can connect to http://askubuntu.com/ and http://askubuntu.com/questions/ but any subpages are unreachable. I get message

Page Not Found

I use Opera Beta 42.0.2393.65 on Linux machine.

I see the same with Opera developer 43 on Windows 10.
