Opera Developer Version and security updates

Hello,
I am currently running Opera Developer version 36.0.2129.0 under Windows XP 32bit SP2.
The problems I am experiencing are as follow:
-
The "Menu" icon (at the top left of the window) has changed color to red and in the menu there is a new item stating "Get the latest security update". Since the "Menu" turned red, browser performance has been very poor.

Honestly, I don't want any security updates and don't want Opera to check for them. I looked everywhere for where to turn all that stuff off but, the instructions/Help I found does not seem to apply to Opera Developer. Instructions on how to turn all that stuff off in Opera developer will be very appreciated.

I attempted to download the latest Opera Developer found at
http://www.opera.com/computer/beta
but what is available there seems to be the version I already have (mentioned above). On the other hand, a little Googling reveals that there are newer versions (up to 43) floating around the net. I prefer using a link from the Opera website (more trustworthy). Is there a place on the Opera website where I can download the latest offline install of Opera developer that would (presumably) have whatever security update my current version is complaining about not having, already included in it ?
Thank you for your help, much appreciated.

Opera 36 is the last version with support for Windows XP and Vista, so you want be able to install any versions newer than that one.
You are probably being asked to download and install Opera 36.0.2130.80, what is the latest build for Opera 36.
To disable auto update you can try renaming the auto update executable file in Opera's install folder.
