What happened to exit button?

When I hold and press the back button of my android there used to be a exit button, but now nothing happens when I hold the back button of my phone.

In Opera Browser for Android, tap the three dots in the top right corner to see a menu that includes the exit button.

That feature is gone on my device also, there is another thread complaining about it. Nothing shows up when i long press back.

Looks like now I have to touch the red Opera icon and select the power off button to completely exit.
