Can confirm memory leak. Happens both on youtube and twitch, haven't tested any other livestreaming sites yet.

I've opened a stream in incognito mode and left it open while I was registering here. Here are three screenshots of my task manager. First picture taken right after I've opened a stream, second one about 5 minutes later and next one 10 or 15 minutes later. As I writing this post, it's already at 1 gigabyte.

          It happened on Clixsense.com

          Couldn't reproduce on this one.

          engageme.tv after watching some videos.

Couldn't test as it says that it can't show me videos at the moment.

Going to switch to other browser until this is fixed. Honestly I lost trust in Opera completely after this. Such a terrible bug released into production , don't they test these things anymore?

I am having the same issues. With 5 tabs open (mainly text sites/video sites) Opera sucks up 2-3 GB of RAM . This is insane. You are going to lose users.

http://engageme.tv -> outofmemory for me as well.

Me too using V42 on Windows 7. Started happening a couple of weeks ago and happens when I have multiple tabs open on youtube.
Very disappointing and amazed that no-one has either addressed the issue or at least recognized it.
Have had to switch back to firefox.

What would be 'multiple tabs'? I've just opened 5 videos on Youtube without any issues so far.

You would be amazed at the number of people that come here and have some weird issue that no one else has experienced or even seen anywhere else. It is very hard to track something down when you can't reproduce it.

There are about 10 people above with the same issue. I think there are other threads on here with similar issues as well. Is it not a coincidence that a number of people all of a sudden have the similar symptoms when previously everything was fine? Just because you can't reproduce it doesn't mean that there isn't a problem. I agree that makes it very hard to deal with, but please believe us.

I'm having the same issue on ANY page! Pages with videos only accelerate that issue.
After closing all tabs, memory still remains full and i must restart opera.

The point is that if "most" users don't see a given problem, including the developers on their systems, it is very difficult for those others to track down the cause of a problem they aren't seeing - even if the problem sufferers number in the several hundred out of the million(s) or more total users. This isn't the same thing as denying a problem exists. There are a vast number of variables between different user systems, in terms of hardware, installed software, and customized user settings. Consequently, the more information supplied in a problem report about a user's OS (type and version), his video system (including drivers), his antimalware software, and some of his custom settings (especially graphics acceleration or not, open tab count, specific webpages or videos, etc), the greater the opportunity for helpers/developers to assist in tracking down possible problem causes - and, hence, to provide likely fixes.

FWIW, even using Vivaldi (another chromium-based) browser, on that site, one of its processes steadily increases memory consumption at the rate of roughly 35Kb/second, which is about 2.1 Mb/minute. Likewise, the memory consumption of Firefox 50's single process (a non-chromium browser) also steadily climbs at a roughly similar rate though with some up-and-down activity as it increases, which tends to make me suspect there's something in the Twitch site code/functionality itself involved in your situation.

"that no one else has experienced", what is very different.

Not all reported problems can be reproduced by everyone since many of them may be triggered by a specific hardware and/or software setting.

I've decided to test different livestreaming services and see what will happen. I've ran opera in private mode, opened one stream at a time and let it run for 5 minutes.

                                          Here are my results. http://i.imgur.com/Gq5aplv.jpg

Then I've opened the same streams in Chromium. Same quality, same amount of time, vastly different memory consumption. http://i.imgur.com/hQZDlzf.jpg

Video - Geforce GTX 750 with 375.70 drivers installed
                                          RAM - 8 gigs
                                          Windows 7 x64 pro

I stopped using Opera and switched to Vivaldi and I can assure you it's not Chromium as I have absolutely no "outofmemory" issues using Vivaldi so far (and used it for days now).

I have a 16GB DDR system , Windows 10 , SSD and opera showing outofmemory messages is absurd (btw, if you had a real 64bit version this error would have not appeared:) there is clearly a memory hole in the code introduced with the latest patches/versions. T

Anyway , it is definetely something related to opera last 2 versions (just compare the code and see what you added and do a proper smoke and regression testing this time) , frankly this is a job for QA (if there is something like that at Opera or devs/enduser is the QA?) but i think Developers should look into the code for this and see what sites are causing it , have a debugger running and also checking the process to understand this bug. A end-user cannot do nothing here but experience it.

                                            My Opera configs :

                                            Extension:
                                            1 Adblock Plus
                                            2.Last Pass

If we are on the logic that only 10 experienced it and as such it's not important ...well there are other browsers.
