Several years ago I used Opera 12.x because it had Opera Notes and would directly open downloaded files. For the tasks I needed to complete on a daily basis this was perfect. For a couple years I was on a temporary project, but now I have returned to my comfortable workflow. But Opera 40 doesn't seem to do either of these things. I found an extension to get Opera Notes working again, but I can't find a setting to allow files to open automatically.

Where should I be looking for this setting? If this setting isn't available in the current Opera, what was the latest Opera that would allow me to do this?

      Thanks,
      Phillip

Nowhere as it no longer exists. In fact I would say that most browsers no longer have such option.

        Opera 12.

          MOST?
What did you mean by most? My most do: in Google Chrome you can choose "Always open" upon downloading, in Firefox you can check "always do" BEFORE downloading, in my Opera 11 you know what, my IE isn't in use.
          So MOST it is :XP:

That is unfortunate that I would have to go back to an ancient version of Opera to get what I need.

Are there any plugins for other browsers that replicate the Opera Notes functionality?

You'd better ask that in the Lounge thread "10 things you love about Opera".
