Can we have persistent collapses of the Category lists?

It would be nice to be able to collapse the categories list on the right - the one to select different forums - and have the collapse persist. There are only a few forums I look at here, and I would like to see the categories I want.

I never look at "Opera Services" forums. Or any of the foreign language ones. I don't need to see all their contents every time. I can always relist them later if I need to.

And/or an option to close it too would be nice, just a little X button, nothing too fancy.

And for me as moderator, the list on the right doesn't help much either. It tells the total number of messages, but not if any are new.
