Opera Browser Dont hold setting or preferences

My Opera Browser wont hold Preferences or setting I have to install and reset everything and passwords every time it crashes or I shut it down and don`t open it right back up. I unstalled it 4 or 5 times and it still wont fix it can someone tell me how to fix it? I am getting up and removing opera for good! thanks

Does it work if you use a standalone installation?
