I'm running the Opera 40.0.2308.81 for Windows on a Windows 7 x64 PC. The issue is that the browser will randomly freeze for a few seconds. I just opened the browser and logged into Outlook online and the browser froze. Other times, I'd be browsing a site like Amazon.com or CycleGear.com or Ireallyliketolookatpenguins.com and the browser would freeze. Most times it would recover but once or twice I couldn't wait because it was frozen for over a minute and had to shut it down. It happens at least three times a day and there doesn't seem to be a reason for it. I also noticed that in the Windows Task Manager, if I start Opera, it starts several copies of the Opera.exe*32 process all at once, immediately taking up about 200K of memory. I'm not sure what it's doing but that seems a bit resource intensive for a browser just opened at the homepage and only has one or two plug-ins running. How can I prevent this from happening?

Do you have many extensions installed?

You can check Opera's task manager to see what are those processes.

        This is nothing nowadays.

Have you checked with hardware acceleration disabled?
