How to get my opera bookmarks in my old laptop on the new one?

  • I have been using Opera for two years and made a lot of bookmarks.
Now I bought a new laptop and when having Opera also on the new laptop I logged in with my id I use on the old laptop and was sure I would get all the bookmarks I have on the old laptop. But that's not the case.
How should I do to get my bookmarks on the new laptop? Any one who can help??

  • Are you using the same Opera version on both the new and the older laptops?

If so, just copy the file called 'Bookmarks' from the old to the new laptop.

  • No, I see that I use 39.0 on the old and 40.0 on the new one. But should it really make the difference you think?

  • In which map should I find the Bookmarks file?? In my usermap on the C-drive there is a map favorites but theres nothing in there... In the Opera map there' s no file called bookmarks.

    There shouldn't be any problems.

In which map should I find the Bookmarks file??

In Opera's profile folder. You can find the path in Menu > About Opera.

  • I am sorry, there are no such files there either. Did you really find it in your own?

There isn't any file called 'Bookmarks' in Opera's profile folder? That's strange.

    What about 'Bookmarks.bak'?

BTW, was Sync enabled in the old laptop? If so, you can just login in the new one to get your bookmarks.
